What to Expect
Step 1
Pre-Assessment Screening
Once your referral is accepted, you’ll receive a pack of structured ADHD rating scales, functional impairment questionnaires, and a background information form. You will also be invited to share any relevant documentation (e.g. school reports, educational assessments, prior psychiatric evaluations).
Step 2
The Diagnostic Assessment
The main assessment is a detailed clinical interview lasting approximately 90 to 120 minutes, conducted via secure video consultation.

The interview includes:
-
A comprehensive developmental history
-
Review of ADHD symptoms in childhood and adulthood
-
Functional impact across settings (education, work, relationships)
-
Psychiatric history and differential diagnosis
-
Review of physical health and medication suitability
-
We aim to complete the assessment in one appointment but on some occasions it may be necessary to have a second appointment. If this is the case then this is all included within the assessment cost.
-
We strongly encourage collateral history from a family member, partner or friend — especially someone who knew you during childhood if possible and advise you to bring them to your assessment appointment if possible.
-
We will explain the outcome of the assessment and if a diagnosis of ADHD is made then a management plan will also be discussed.
-
If a diagnosis of ADHD is not made, we will offer alternative explanations and signposting to appropriate services.
Step 3
Feedback and Report
Following the assessment, a full written diagnostic report is prepared (usually within 2 weeks).

This includes:
-
A clear diagnostic outcome (with rationale)
-
Results of any rating scales
-
Recommendations for treatment
-
Summary for your GP
Step 4
Medication & Treatment Pathway
If ADHD is diagnosed, medication may be recommended as part of your treatment plan.

We offer:
-
Initiation of stimulant or non-stimulant medication, as clinically appropriate
-
A structured titration process, including monitoring of:
-
Blood pressure
-
Heart rate
-
Weight
-
Response and side effects
-
-
Medication is prescribed privately during the titration phase.
-
Once a stable dose is established, we will liaise with your GP to request shared care, allowing NHS prescribing to continue.
Step 5
Shared Care with Your GP
Shared care involves:
-
Initial prescribing and monitoring by our clinic
-
Transition to GP prescribing once stable
-
Ongoing 6–12 monthly ADHD reviews by our clinic
-
Ongoing advice and support to the GP regarding your ADHD medication if required

Please note:
-
GP participation in shared care is voluntary
-
If your GP declines, we can continue prescribing privately with regular reviews.
Psychological & Lifestyle Support
While we do not currently offer therapy or coaching, we strongly encourage a holistic approach to managing ADHD.
We can:
-
Recommend self-help strategies and tools
-
Signpost to ADHD coaching providers
